by Silke Koeck

“Being interested in the analysis of body language, I realised that dance expresses this topic in a very open and free way. At the same time I became fascinated by the spirit of the Olympic Games and decided to create a choreography as a celebration.

While any language acts as a code that is interpreted by people, I created codes for the choreography and the space. The dance integrates intimate and familiar information about the Olympic Games and turns it into visible movement, static positions and coordinations in space.

The book consists of a combination of illustrations, written instructions and pictures that make this a guidebook for the dance. As a result, the dance itself becomes partly controlled and directed, partly subject to interpretation and chance.”
