“Rhetorik” is a typeface family consisting of 16 weights. Its subliminal structure is based on a calligraphic model by Giovanni Francesco Cresci (16th century), the origins of which can be found in Walter Tiemann’s “Orpheus” font (1926) and in Otl Aicher’s “Rotis” (1988). While Tiemann serves as a form-giving source, Aicher’s theory of “Rotis” is the decisive reference for “Rhetorik’s” family structure. It includes a serif and sans serif version with corresponding italics in light, regular, medium and bold cuts. Thanks to their common structure, all cuts are easily interchangeable.
