swissnex San Francisco
On the occasion of the opening of the new swissnex San Francisco and Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco building (Swiss Pier) a few days ago, ECAL was represented on all fronts: - Presentation of the "Swiss Data" interactive project produced by ECAL Bachelor Media & Interaction Design (BA MID) students under the lead of Vincent Jacquier and Cyril Diagne, which highlighted six projects intended to display data related to the activities of swissnex and Switzerland in general in a fun and interactive way. - Romain Cazier was also able to take up residence in the swissnex ECAL Hub - a residency granted to an assistant in BA MID, with the support of the Kudelski, to work on virtual reality projects in San Francisco and, thanks to swissnex, to build up contacts with leading companies in the market, while representing ECAL. - The members of the Fragment.in studio, Laura Perrenoud and Marc Dubois (ECAL graduates in BA MID), in collaboration with Bureau A were invited to present their "I Hat an Idea" project made especially on this occasion. - Cem Sever, a BA MID graduate, presented his new start-up Teleport and performed an outstanding DJ Set on opening night. - Christophe Guberan, a Bachelor Industrial Design graduate and recent winner of the Hublot Design Prize, delivered a lecture on the research which he is conducting with MIT in the context of rethinking the use of certain materials in the production of designer objects.
