What is the students' office (BDE) ?

The students' office (in french, Bureau Des Étudiant.e.x.s, BDE) is a structure within the school that relies entirely on the students. It is a meeting point between the students, the associations and the management. It is independent from the school and tries to represent the students to the management. The association is elected every year by the students at the General Meeting (in french : Assemblée Générale, AG). The purpose of the students' office is to be a platform for its members, its activities are meant to meet their needs, expectations and represent them. The members to become subscribe to the students' office by the symbolic participation of chf 1.-, in order to constitute the association.

The BDE has a mail address (bde@ecal.ch ) that is open to all matters. It has a budget that is managed by the tresorire of the BD, and is renewed every year. This budget is not illimited and should be used wisely. The BDE can also have a contact with the students syndicat (sudto protect the students if needed. The BDE has the possibility to book rooms and to organise events at ECAL.
